LAUREN L CISSE
PRODUCER, DIRECTOR AND WRITER
WHAT I CAN OFFERβ¦.
With experience in event-led roles at Deaf & Disabled People in TV, TV Access Project, Channel 4, SKY and Cinegirl.
DIRECTING
Directing requires someone who not only carries a strong creative vision, but understands the intricacies of storytelling and media production. I look for projects about people whose stories donβt get told often enough, or often get told by someone else, I bring my own personal and professional experience to a project and love to collaborate with other passionate filmmakers. When a script comes to me, I ask what itβs really about, who is telling it and why and whether I can serve it well. Iβve written and directed films about adolescence, trauma and the things people donβt say out loud. That means I come to the work with care and understanding, and a firm belief that the people in the story should be in the room when itβs made. Iβd love to hear from writers, producers and organisations with a story that needs a director who gets it.
PRODUCTION ASSISTANT
A smooth production doesnβt run on luck, it runs on someone who keeps everything moving behind the scenes, and thatβs where an experienced production assistant makes all the difference! Iβve supported directors, producers and company leadership across film and TV, handling diaries and scheduling, travel and accommodation, invoicing and budgets, trackers, databases and everything in between. I stay organised under pressure, Iβm quick to pick up new software, and I keep data safe and GDPR-compliant. Whatever your production needs, Iβll make sure the details are covered so you can focus on the work. Access and inclusion are part of how I work from day one, not an afterthought.
EVENTS
A fun welcoming event doesnβt happen by chance, this is where an experienced Event Coordinator can make all the difference! I have a variety of experience running networking events, panels, webinars and industry socials within the Film and TV industry, from the first idea through to logistics, venue booking and sponsors ready for the epic day itself. Access and inclusion are part of the plan from the start, not added at the end.
-
Working out what the event is for, who itβs for and what a good outcome looks like, then building the format around that. That might be speed meets, panels, workshops, online sessions or parties.
-
Finding accessible venues, booking BSL interpreters, arranging travel and accommodation, and building schedules and run sheets that hold up on the day.
-
Opening applications, reviewing and processing them, and matching people to the right opportunities and contacts. I keep accurate records and look after your data in line with GDPR.
-
Sourcing and liaising with external companies, broadcasters, and sponsors who have shared values and a unique relation to your event.
-
I help you reach the right people and make them feel welcome: clear invitations, accessible information, and follow-up that keeps the community coming back. Thatβs event copy, social posts, mailing lists and attendee updates, so people know whatβs happening, when, and how to take part.
